My Neighborhood Wants to Be a Web Developer

An ordinary day strikes again. I woke up with a smile, prepare my things and proceed to my bookstore in town. But as I drove along the road, I notice a neighbor swiftly striding erratically in a direction towards town. It seems that he's in haste for something. I thought that it would be better to hitch him a ride.

As he stepped in my car, he smiled at me and softly greeted a pleasant morning. I bounced back the greetings and eventually asked him what's with the hurry. He slightly grinned and burst out a whispering voice, “I have been invited to a seminar of our nation's topweb developers”.

Torrential questions streamed all throughout my head, I awkwardly replied, “What was that?”
My fellow neighbor paused for a while, emit a skeptical look to me. Perhaps, he was thinking if I have an idea about what it was all about. Then after his brief observation, his mouth started explaining about the Internet world. He quite elaborated some of the significant facts inside the walls of Internet marketing.

At the middle of our conversation, his crystal clear tears reluctantly flowed from his innocent eyes. I even don't know the reason for it. That moment, I just let him continue the discussion.

As he continued, he talked about certain professions that emerge due to Internet marketing. Those are search engine optimization specialist, virtual assistant, and web developer. Perhaps, my daily routine in taking care of my bookstore somehow pulls me away from the latest trend of technology.

Anyway, I just absorbed everything he said. I was actually in the state of gathering lots of information from him. It was an amazing incident for me.

As we arrived in town, he smiled at me. I stopped the car to the place where their seminar was supposed to be held. Then he opened the car, get out of it and stood beside me (outside the car).

As he slowly fades away from my sight, I noticed that he was crying. So I rushed to him and asked the reason of his tears. He then told me, “I wanted to become a web developer but my girlfriend hates being one. He wanted me to become a searchengine optimization specialist!” Although he told me his reason, still, I had no idea what those professions are. I realized that my mind is really outdated with today’s technology.
